Why does it it always come down to that? I would think that by now our significant others would know that our only mistress is sweet lady cacharocles!

We all must face the fact that the lady Carcharocles is indeed very sharp and beautiful, so our brides are going to get a little on edge with that kind of distractive competition drawing us out and away to seek that enamel goddess for hours on end. Believe me, I get in hot water all the time over a weekend tooth hunt, especially if I don't bring home the lady C. to meet my wife!

Just a short time after I started this hobby my wife threw it out there one Saturday morning after I came home from the beach.." are you sure you're not with some girl down there?"  I stood there amazed that she would even think such a thing, especially when I stunk from the Bay water, rubber hip-waders, sweaty clothes, and a baggie full of teeth!  After she saw all that she realized how stupid she was for asking.  She said, ya, you're right, what was I thinking.  After she got in my car and also smelt the stinking damp socks, damp waders basking in the hot steamy trunk, and McD's wrappers everywhere, she was really convinced that my only other "love of my life" was shark teeth.  She said, I thought you were strange for reading calculus books when you're bored, but what the heck do you see in shark's teeth?  ...guess that's why she never joins me for a hunt.  Although, she did join me once at Calvert Cliffs during the hot summer one year.  After complaining about the heat, mosquito's and other bugs and critters, smelly nasty dirty colored water, and that all of the collectors seemed to be guys, or older unattractive women (at least on taht day ladies..don't anyone get upset here), she hasn't questioned my loyalty.

I had to sell teeth just to prove that there is a good reason for hunting them, but I sold some teeth that I wish I still had too, so now when I get a serious huckleberry, right in a riker it goes and I nail it to the wall. I still sell a few, but not the ultra rare super preserved killer finds, she kind of likes them too now and always wishes me luck on finding the good one when I head out to the rocks. Its been a give and take kind of relationship with the fossil teeth and when I must do the husband stuff to earn a good long weekend of collecting.

Dw, the gallery titled, "weekly tooth", is that an ongoing gallery now or just an archive type thing?  In other words, will there still be things added to it like those good ol' days?  How about a thread on the shark's tooth page (stickied) for folks to post their nominations and you choose which ones go in there????  Just a thought.

The galleries pages are awesome.  I've been getting lost in there often!

The weekly tooth was a section on a previous version of this site. There really isn't a need for it again because anyone can post photos now. But there were some really nice teeth in that area and I thought it would be a nice blast from the past.

Hey DW! I have responded to, and posted numerous items that concern mines & quarries that are regular hunting areas and it seems like BRF could actually do an expansion that would be a sort of quarry report that would serve as an area in the forum to update schedules, when and where to go collecting. Some of this information is outside of fossils in general, or sharks teeth and is a pretty heavy subject. Not a trip report, mind you, but more of concentration of locations that collectors could plan to visit and get up to date time schedules, actual hours of operation , contacts for collecting trips, safety info, etc. It may be useful for the forum, I would definately do regular visits to something of this nature and could provide some useful info for the quarry topic. Your call as always, just another bright idea from the light bulb company.

Sounds good, thanks for bringing them back for our enjoyment!
