dw here. i signed up for a new account so it would have the same permissions as you all. Anyway, YAY I finally figured this image thing out. I struggled for hours trying to debug an issue that was a problem with the software not the configuration. Anyway, somebody else try to upload a picture to make sure it works.

By the way, the photo above is of the nice megalodon teeth I found in Venice on my recent dive trip there. They're sitting on a sand dollar that I picked up because it was gigantic!

Fat Boy, there are a couple of reasons why BRF might not retain your credentials. Could be a cookie, javascript, or security setting on your end. Could also be a browser incompatibility issue. It works for me and for several others I know of. I also know of some people it has never worked for.

Second, BRF is now actually two sites. The old one, www.blackriverfossils.org, and the new one, community.blackriverfossils.org. I split the two because the updated forums required new software that the trip reports did not. It's taking me much longer than I thought to upgrade the trip reports to the new software version, so I decided to split the site and end the years of agony we all shared with the old forums Since its now two sites, you don't necessarily have to be logged into both at the same time.

OK, that's what it was...I had to log in to both sites and now the credentials are saved on both (until my cache gets zapped again).

Nice meg pic dw!

Pic test:

Hah, it worked! I'm still seeing the creepy latin lingo though...by posting a pic I'm not going to see any demon's chasing me, am I???

Oh yeah, I like the edit post feature!!!!!!!

OB1, here's your pic with the size reduced by decreasing the size values. If you "lock the ratio", just change one of the numbers, and the other changes in accordance to keep the original ratio. In this instance, the top number was 2902, so I changed it to 750, which made the lower number change accordingly.

Wow Kevin, that is one amazingly beautiful meg. Wallpaper material there!!!!!!!

OK, login issue update: I stay logged in under the old site (trip reports) but have to login each time to the forum. I tried from home and had the same problem, so it's not an issue with my systems. What I did was login, close the browser, and then open and try to get in again and the forum boots me out every time. That said, It's not a big deal to type a few characters in so that we can grow and improve, but just to let you know. I can deal with it on my end and keep enjoying my favorite site!!!!!

Pics are much easier to post than before, that's for sure. And being able to browse and find the thumb without having to click on a bunch of pages is also easier.

Thanks DW!

Here's another improvement that I noticed:

It used to be on the old forum when you clicked on a pic and hit the enlarge button, it would enlarge but you didn't have scroll bars to move around. Now, under the new software, we have the scroll bars!!!! It's really cool when someone posts a pic and you can enlarge and see some of that detail...NICE!!!!!!

Login issue update:

If I login through http://community.blackriverfossils.org then go to the old site, I stay logged in on both even if I go back to the old site from there. If I open the old site directly then click on forums my credentials aren't there any more. So, the solution seems best to login through the new site.
